And which Coventry-raised woman unravelled a geological mystery?
Musician and science writer Rebecca Mileham plays a set of new songs exploring unsung heroines from the history of science.

Jennie and the Boat Rats play the music of the American South, songs and tunes that have crossed the ocean and came back better. Lyrical, haunting, strange, beautiful, enchanting - music that will stay with you. Featuring the stunning vocals of singer and whistle player Jennie Ives:
“…. like grit boiled in honey, amazing swing and syncopation, a completely fresh approach to the tradition. Brilliant and one to watch. The missing link between Eliza Carthy and Alison Krauss.”

Tim O’Connor

The lead singer and songwriter for London/Coventry indie-rock trio The Way After. Following critical praise and BBC Introducing airplay for the 2025 mini-album Still To Breathe, expect a set of melodic, 60s-inspired indie-folk for fans of Elliott Smith, R.E.M, and the The Beatles. This solo performance will feature stripped-back versions of recent songs and a preview of the band's highly anticipated full-length debut album

Nyotaa Izeidi

NYOTAA (Nyota Izeidi) is a Coventry-based alternative recording artist and founder of independent label Kamona Records. Rooted in R&B, her work incorporates hip hop, electronic production, soul, and alt-rock influences, prioritising emotional depth and sonic experimentation.

Lewis Holmes

Playing last year as part of the duo Nowhere Club, this year we have a solo set from Lewis Holmes, playing his own songs, new and old.  Jingly jangly, twingly twangly folky harmonies with multi-layered melodies and harmonies combining with witty, sometimes political and always heartfelt lyrics. This year he will also be collaborating live with Coventry Poet Laureate Andrea Mbarushimana.

Amit Dattani

Folk, blues and Americana singer-songwriter Amit Dattani has garnered attention from the likes of BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, Americana UK and fRoots, with his nimble fingerpicking and striking lyrical originality. Named in ‘Best Gigs of 2023’ by Tradfolk, Amit’s raconteur spirit and superb musicianship has garnered a strong reputation on the live circuit. His musicianship, lyricism and fiercely defiant spirit come to the fore on his most recent release — Wrong Kind of One. Set against the backdrop of a debilitating health condition, this collection of songs captures resilience and hope in equal measure, earning plaudits and recognition for its honesty, warmth and craft. https://www.amitdattanimusic.com/

Reign the Girl Band

Reign the Girlband is an acoustic indie-folk duo from Coventry, UK, formed in late 2023 by musicians Siân and Lily. Known for a nuanced, intimate sound featuring guitar and vocals, they have performed at local events like the Leamington Food & Drink Festival and Soul Coventry. Reign The Girl Band cite "..a few different foundations: joy, space for experimentation, respect, friendship, chocolate, and cooking dinner for each other. Oh, and what we hope is some pretty great music".

 Jude Rees / MADRIGIRL
Recently selected as one of BBC Radio 3 Late Juntion’s “Sounds of 2025”, Jude Rees is a genredefying oboist and multi-instrumentalist based in the Midlands, UK. Her noise is new/old, breathing new life into old instruments and fusing historical sounds with modern circuitry to create her own sonic lexicon. Under her solo moniker MADRIGIRL, Jude reimagines early music through a contemporary lens, diving deep into the raw source material of ancient polyphony and reconstructing it with live-looped improvisations, her own compositions, and a rich tapestry of
drones. Her live performances feature a bewildering array of instruments, including shawms, English border bagpipes, crumhorns, hurdy gurdy, synths, electronics and voice, all woven into immersive, otherworldly soundscapes. It’s experimental music with warmth, intelligence and edge.
